A fingerprint attendance system functions by leveraging biometric technology to identify individuals based on their unique fingerprint patterns. The process begins with enrollment, where each user places their finger on the scanner, allowing the system to capture the fingerprint and convert it into a digital template using a specific algorithm. This digital template, rather than the actual fingerprint image, is then stored in a database to ensure security. When the user needs to clock in or out, they place their finger on the scanner again. The system captures the fingerprint and compares it to the stored template. If the fingerprint matches the stored template, the system records the attendance. If there is no match, access is denied, or the attendance is not recorded.
